How many cheerful memories take you back to your childhood dining table?
It is one place in the home where we can celebrate the art of family, friendship & feasting.
Let’s make the dining room a sacred space and create happy memories with Sunday roasts and nostalgic holiday get-togethers.
Enjoying a delicious meal, our tummies and hearts thankful and bursting with love, laughter and good conversation.
Create a feature wall by painting 1 or 2 walls in an accent colour.
Leaving the other walls your chosen neutral. A soft sage is introduced here; muted, calm and reassuring, it will complement earthy tones like browns and ochres.
Look at your room size and decide what shape & size is most appropriate. Round tables are a good choice for smaller rooms.
This modern sideboard will come in handy when entertaining. When not in use, it can be the perfect place for a few of your favourite decor items.
I just love these bamboo pendants! You could also use an upside down basket after electrifying it!
This creates a beautiful feature above the round table adding to the ambience.
Artwork doesn’t need to be expensive. Why not go through some of your photo albums or use your children’s creative artwork and frame it.
This will add a fun element and could even be a great conversation piece!
A French or Pinch pleat style curtain will create a simple and understated look. Depending on the amount of sunlight coming through your window, aim for a light sheer fabric for an airy look.
Adding the final touches with some carefully chosen accessories can be the most fun element of any scheme. This can be an ongoing process, adding new pieces and re-arranging current ones. Keep things fresh and interesting by introducing new plants in different shades of green.
Note – You can never have too many candles in the dining area!
I hope these tips create a spring in your step this September.
Happy dining and may you continue making happy memories around your table 🙂
